BFFI's Partnership with the House of Ruth

BFFI and the House of Ruth will work together to provide a Safe and Together model for improving children’s outcomes. The goal is improving overall safety, eliminating child maltreatment, preventing the trauma of separation and children’s entry into foster care, and mitigating risk concerns posed by the batters.

BFFI and the House of Ruth believe that it is in the best interest of a child to remain Safe and Together with the non-offending domestic violence survivor. Certified family coaches are matched with parents whose children are at risk of being removed. The family coaches strengthen families by integrating a Parent-Child Relationship Focused Approach, the Protective Factors Framework and the following five integral elements that when connected keep the children and their families in the center surrounded with a safety net of support, resources, parenting skills, factual information, and consistent and coordinated services.

The House of Ruth is a domestic violence agency that provides comprehensive, prevention services to surviving parents of domestic violence. For more than 43 years, the House of Ruth has served more than 20,000 families and their children.
